> /fish
That’s the whole pitch.
If you work with Claude, you know the pause. You hand over a big task, and then there’s a stretch of minutes where the best thing you can do is wait. Most of us fill it by opening another tab and losing our train of thought. We wanted something better to do with that time, so we built a lake.
What Reel Time is
Reel Time is a cozy multiplayer fishing game that opens in the side panel of the Claude app. Type /fish, cast a line, and fish while your prompt runs. When Claude finishes, a bell rings, and only you hear it.

The lake opens beside your chat. Turn signals stay private.
What’s in the water
- Five Lakes Valley. Each lake has a base level, a deep end, and one named landmark spot where the rarest fish live.
- Tug & Turn. Give line when the fish runs, pull when it tires.
- Shared lakes. Room for about twenty anglers each.
How it changed in playtesting
| Then | Now |
|---|---|
| One small cove | A valley of five lakes, four times the size |
| Timing-bar reeling | Tug & Turn |
| Block-built art | Low-poly trees, rocks and water from Blender |
Every change now lands in the in-game changelog on the main menu, so you can see exactly what’s different each time you cast.
Under the hood
The bell is a private signal from the Claude panel to your client only. Roughly:
onPromptComplete(() => {
bell.ring({ audience: "self" });
journal.log("back to work", catch.current);
});
What’s next
- An open-ocean charter for you and three friends.
- A third map: jungle river or ice fishing. Vote in the Discord.
- Steam and mobile, with Claude as an optional connection.
Reel Time is in beta. Sign up at playreeltime.com. See you at the lake.
